Busy, Busy, Busy as a aquaponic freak.

Started a few weeks ago with my home built Aqua-ponic system.

It first started with in-door system rocking two gold fish and a vermiculite bio-filter.

Here we have a up-close action shot of some seriously happy Gold Fish.
Start of a wicked cool outdoor NFT salad garden.

Next pay-day will be purchasing some gutters, up-cycled pallets to non-destructively mount them to the second story balcony railing. and a secondary swap/duckweed nitrate filter before returning to the main bio-reactor.

Sustainable Nebraska.

I had another interesting vision this evening. This vision involved Creating jobs, occupational training, and Locally produced sustainable food sources.
#1. You get a few sponsors together with the same vision.

#2. You purchase or rent some land close to some local Shelters.

#3. Setup some green houses with up-cycled Aqua-ponics.

#4. Hire some help from the local shelters to work the system.

#5. When the system becomes sustainable Start up another co-op in another part of town or in another local city so it just starts growing as a movement.

Universe brings large HDTV to my doorstep.

So i came home after a long day of work on this Monday and found someone had thrown out a 50" HDTV.

Curious mind and all snipes it up. I plug it in and their is a loud whirling sound like a fat woman and a Hitachi magic wand. The logic board tries to power up three times with this horrible sound, motherboard posts three blinking lights on front power switch.

Ended up sleeping on the project, came back the next day popped the rear and the bulb looks practically brand new. Zero ohms on the bulb leads "This is a mercury arch lamp" so a zero ohm reading is good!

power board is in range, ballast is good, DMD looks fine, the sound leads to speculative bad color wheel bearings per userCharlieBrowns flow chart.

Took a look around the internets a replacement CW will run me about $100 to $150 just for the L3 Chassis module

You Tube user "Hexagontaginal" video guide bellow makes it look rather easy job to do. I have built RedHat servers more difficult.

Update 03/28/2012...

Dropped by a local TV repair shack SOS TV Repair shop after speaking with with a Scott we were able to locate a replacement color wheel. about 2 hours of work i had the beast up and running with crystal clear menu's.

Next step is figuring out why input video is garbled.

Their is this Youtube video by "TheXboxguy269" About reflowing GPU for xbox360 units. Its a similar theory. without all the crazy specialty equipment, might be cool to have all the proper gear but seriously how often am i going to need something like it Microsoft will not be in console video game market for much longer. :)

Federal Sanctioned HEMP production. Circa WWII time frame.

Their was a time our own US Federal government sanctioned the manufacturing, sale and usage of Cannabis/Hemp. Particularly in times of world war.

REEFER MADNESS.

Please US Government, explain your mixed messages concerning Hemp?

Parallel universe/Realities.

Just had a little incite after reading this article about parallel realities and awakening inner knowledge.

That deep thought entailed this.. "If you can truly visualize or imagine a particular fine details of a different reality it has happened or is currently happening in some parallel universe."

Amazing photographic processes.

Wondering how hard it would be to get into this process. In all actuality the whole process of coating glass slides with colloid emulsion's, manual exposure, large overkill accordion/bellow style cameras seems incredibly appealing to me.

It might to the inner masochist pining for lugging around a heavy camera, film plates, and developing gear is oddly satisfying.

speed up documentation of the whole process.

Now here comes the fun stuff! A old time style of photography called "Daguerreotype" The process of development is very non EPA freindly as it involves mercury, "vapors of death".
