It seems every decade marketing departments around the world get this bright idea to build a showcase house to show technologies alleged to be "just" around the corner but end up never really materializing like demonstrated. Without a due i have arranged a few youtube videos "yesterday" and "current" incantations of the fabled "House of Tomorrow"

Monsanto pre-manufactured house circa 1957. I remember my grandparents grumbling about this... never really having a opportunity to experience realization of this concept house.
